List of Sledge Hammer! episodes |
"Play It Again, Sledge" is the 25th episode of the television series Sledge Hammer! and the third episode of the series' second and final season. It originally aired on ABC in the United States on October 1, 1987. The episode is an homage to the 1942 film Casablanca, with guest star Robert Sacchi playing a ghostly character that resembles Humphrey Bogart.[1]
This was the first episode in the series to be directed by Bill Bixby.
As a result of Hammer's latest display of police brutality, he and Doreau are suspended from the force. That night, while drinking at a bar, he sees a trenchcoated stranger named Bogie (Robert Sacchi), who convinces him to become a private investigator.
Because of his striking resemblance to Humphrey Bogart, Robert Sacchi starred in numerous films as Bogart or characters closely related to the cultural icon. Most notable among his roles is the 1980 film The Man with Bogart's Face.
